It was a long ride up.
The day before the celebration, Richard and Cheryl arrived in Detroit from San Francisco. Cheryl's Mom and her husband Chuck Martin flew in from Pittsburgh.

Two Detroit people on the guest list couldn't make it : Mary Jane and Joe Bielaska. So they provided a wonderful dinner where everyone broke oplatek (unleavened bread).

By the time the four reached Long Lake the next day, Cheryl had buried her mother in streamers.
